LKS.60 Nanosecond Laser Photolysis Spectrometer

Accessories
LKS.60 with SX.1 accessory- Combined Laser Flash Photolysis and Stopped-Flow System
The stopped-flow capability in this combined system provides equivalent performance to the SX20 Stopped-Flow Spectrometer. The combined instrument is both ergonomic and cost-effective because many elements of the stopped-flow and LKS.60 laser flash systems are identical. Switching between the two configurations takes less than 5 minutes. The stopped-flow accessory (SX.1) has a 1ms dead-time, is suitable for both absorbance and fluorescence detection and also has the capability to acquire and globally analyze time-resolved absorbance spectra.
In addition to the standard stopped-flow capabilities, a full range of accessories is available including: sequential-mixing, photodiode array detection, fluorescence polarization detection etc.
LKS.60 with FF.1 accessory- Combined Laser Flash Photolysis and Flow-Flash System
Provides rapid-mixing of two reagents prior to laser excitation. Laser excitation takes place at user-determined intervals after the rapid-mix. Sequential-mixing of 3 reagents prior to laser excitation is also possible and it is straightforward and inexpensive to further enhance the stopped-flow detection if required.
LKS.60 with SX-FF.1 accessory- Combined Laser Flash Photolysis, Flow-Flash and Stopped-Flow System
This instrument configuration combines both the stopped-flow and flow-flash accessories described above. Reconfiguration between each detection mode is straightforward and takes just a few minutes.

LKS.60 with FF.1 accessory and a second programmable monochromator (between the Xe light source and sample chamber)
Other possible configurations for LKS.60 include:
Second Programmable Monochromator
Locates between the probe (xenon) source and the sample chamber (see above photograph) to protect photosensitive samples from excess irradiation. Commonly used for biochemical samples.
Co-linear sample excitation
The output from the laser can be directed onto a sample cuvette co-linear with the analysing beam in order to access longer optical pathlengths.

Laser induced fluorescence detector
Photomultiplier detector optimised for laser induced fluorescence detection.
Diffuse reflectance accessory
This accessory can be used for solid samples which may be in the form of a powder in a cuvette or a film attached to a vertical sample stage. In either case, the sample position can be readily adjusted in vertical or lateral directions. The accessory has been designed for ease of mounting in the sample housing and simple alignment.
Cryostat
The large sample chamber provides ample room for a saddle support tailed for used with Oxford Instruments LT.3 cryostat.
Customization
The modular design of the LKS.60 enables a high degree of customization - please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
